A decline in the middle class in the United States for the U.S Public Health Service could lead to increase patients/consumers. Middle class with no health insurance will not be able to afford the proper care and will go to public hospitals for care. With the middle class decreasing so will their income and their inability to afford health insurance. With that said it could lead to decrease revenue for the health care programs to spend. The Scripps Clinic will experience a reduction in patients, employees, and even researchers since the vast majority of the population are middle class. Thus resulting in a poor quality of care for the patients/consumers.
