I was motivated to write this story because I was fascinated by the content, it met my desire to be creative, and I felt inspired by visiting the fair to experience their retelling of the Renaissance. Throughout my writing career, I have struggled and at times given up. I struggle to write; not because I do not like to write, but because I like to write and desire perfection. I am motivated to write but within that motivation comes fear of failure, struggle with not being perfect as I write the first draft. As I write this paper, it has been a challenge to stay focused and to put my thoughts on paper without revising in my mind as I go. Moving forward, I need to explore my motivations with writing and let go of the fears and perfectionism that holds me back.
I look at the entirety of my writing experience as practice. I haven’t written a great published piece. Every writing experience gives me experience that helps me to refine and improve my writing ability. My weakness is that I do not practice writing enough. I do not seek out opportunities to write mainly due to the fears I spoke about in addressing motivation in writing. I believe that as I work on resolving those issues, I will write more and improve in my
