Outside of my intended academic focus I'm extremely interested in expanding my understanding of different cultures. Growing up in a wealthy suburb of the Twin Cities, I often find myself surrounded by people who are profoundly similar to me, not only culturally but religiously and financially as well. In my future I hope to advocate for all people and help create equality in our world, and in order to do so it is crucial that I place myself among diversity. The abundant exposure to diversity available because USC is located in Los Angeles-the melting pot of cultures, ethnicities, cuisines, and traditions from all over the world- would expand my knowledge and understanding of other people.
