Secondhand Smoke Smoking

Parents are killing their children one puff at a time. Cigarette smoking is the inhalation of the gases and hydrocarbon vapors generated by slowly burning tobacco in cigarettes. The practice stems partly from the effect on the nervous system of the nicotine contained in the smoke. Cigarette smoke is addictive and is considered more dangerous than pipe or cigar smoke because it is less irritating and therefore more likely to be inhaled (Elsevier). As more parents begin to smoke, children are slowly being killed by secondhand smoke because of their so called ‘caregivers’ crippling addiction.

There is smoke in the shape of a bag around his head, which is representing that secondhand smoke harms children and can cause death upon not only the person smoking, but the child who is inhaling the smoke. The shadow of the picture is all black, with a spotlight on the child. The color of the child however is showing him being red in the face from choking or crying and the shirt being a brown color, similar to the filter on a cigarette. In Ohio, issue five was passed in late 2006 protecting all workers and the public from exposure to secondhand smoke in workplaces and public places.
