Exploring Ulysses: A Case Study

Decent Essays
If I could choose one way to improve Ulysses, I would create more jobs for local citizens. I would build an industrial park complex. Depending on how big the complex is, it could create many new businesses in our community. Most likely, it would start out small and grow! Industrial parks are used to influence businesses to move into them to better the community. It would be smaller scale than you would see in the suburbs and cities, but it would have many positive effects on our community. It would start out with one small business. As jobs are created for local people with this business, local people and those hired by these jobs will spend their money locally instead of going elsewhere. As a result, this improves the community economy

My trip to the Barnes Foundation museum was enjoyable and informative. On my trip, as we moved through the galleria I was astounded by how the rooms in the galleria were arranged. It was not like your average museum, with one or two paintings on the walls with a description of it underneath. Instead, there were rooms with paints all over the walls, along with iron work that correlated with the pieces. Our tour guide elaborated on how he did not wish for there to be a description under the pieces of art stating their background.…

A hero is anyone who has the ability to express themselves. In the past, the definition of a hero was much more narrow than in the current day. Today, who a hero is depends entirely on perspective. A hero to one could be the enemy to another. This concept of what it takes to be a hero has changed as time went on.…

The spies said to Joshua, “Truly the Lord has delivered all the land into our hands…”(Joshua 2:24). They had faith in God that He would fulfill the promise he made to the Israelites to lead them to the Promised Land. In the epic, The Odyssey, tells the story of a great warrior named odyssey that takes a long journey and deals with internal and external conflicts that cost him the lives of many. He does this all to get back home and reach his son and wife. The hardest challenge that odysseus had to face was his pride and arrogance. This trait was the major challenge that was holding him back from reaching to Ithaca. One quote that shows the arrogance and pride that Odysseus had was “if ever mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded, tell him Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye:Laertes’ son, whose home’s on Ithaca!’”…

Dan Simmons, an American author, once said, “A hero. You want to be one of those rare human beings who make history, rather than merely watch it flow around them like water around a rock.” Heroes are ordinary people that stand up for what they believe in, even if they stand alone. Heros are fearless at times when the challenges seem impossible. They are everyday people doing extraordinary things.…

t 's been a few years since I 've been to Clementon, so having the day off last Wednesday I took a ride up to see the town. In the 1970s I lived in an apartment on Blackwood-Clementon Road in Lindenwold and had a friend who lived on top of the Park Grill. The town had a distinct look, with its older buildings, pool hall, and feed store – something you don 't usually see at the mall. Most of my time there was spent drinking beer in the Park Grill or drinking beer and eating seafood at the Palm Garden, so my memory may be fuzzy On the way up there on the White Horse Pike from Absecon, I passed Philadelphia Avenue in Egg Harbor City, lined with old-time storefronts and homes; then cut over to Bellevue Avenue in Hammonton with its historic district of restored homes and commercial buildings; then on the Pike again through Berlin 's quaint downtown.…

They are alike in tons of ways, but they are also so different. They are two completely different who are strangely alike.…

Overall, I feel that Scarlet did a fantastic job continuing the story first presented in Cinder. Though the Earth presented in The Lunar Chronicles is vastly different to the earth in life the world and the characters still feel grounded in their own reality in the way they’re written. I can still understand the character’s motivations, fears and passions with ease and even relate to them in some cases. For example, Cinder is a great example of a strong, yet insecure character. Regardless of all that she has accomplished, she still doubts herself sometimes, and that is a feeling that many people can connect with.…

Among all the Greeks, the king of Ithaca was known as one of the best and his legend is told world wide. This fierce warrior stormed the beaches of Troy with sword and shield, and ultimately burned the supposedly impenetrable city to the ground. He bravely sailed the Mediterranean sea for ten long years and never lost sight of reaching home. The Greeks knew him as Odysseus, but to others, this kings name is Ulysses. This man from Ithaca is nothing short of a hero to the Greeks, but his time here on earth was far from perfect nor ultimately fulfilling.…
