Introduction
The Bill of Rights was passed in 1791. It is composed of the first 10 amendments proposed to the Constitution and encompasses a wide range of protections for American citizens (Lab et al., p. 41). One such protection comes from the fourth amendment which states,
the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against
unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but
upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the
place to be searched, and the person or things to be seized (Lab et at., p. 42).…
