Exploring Reflective Report

Decent Essays
I chose your reflections to respond to because I felt that when I read your post that was exactly how I saw this situation as well. These assessments are not tools to be used by anyone. They should be used by professionals who have the training and knowledge to understand the specific assessment. On the other hand practicing counselors should be able to do assessments if they possess all the qualifications. They have to follow all the same guidelines and ethics and graduate from an accredited school in order to get licensed to practice.

The things I found most interesting about your reflection were you brought emphasis to the fact of not only having the knowledge but making sure that when giving the assessment that it is in the right environment.

However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

After you have read Arbisi and Farmer's reviews of the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), compare each author's evaluation of assessment applicability to specific populations. Competency 2 also states that social workers should present themselves as learners. I presented myself as the facilitator for the day, students called me teacher and I told them I was not a teacher or expert in citizenship classes but still they called me teacher. Another point Competency 2 refers to is self-regulation to manage the influence of personal biases and values when working. To be honest I don't think someone could master this point who could put aside their own values? I think in one way or the other you will always say and suggest something base on your own beliefs or values.…

This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I wasn 't always able to find the correct answers to the workshop questions set which made it relatively difficult for me to participate in lectures despite finding myself at the library every other day. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
