If I became stranded on an island the four items I would choose to bring is a machete, a water filtration device that could both filter fresh water and convert saltwater into freshwater, a sleeping bag and another person, who would also bring their four chosen items with them. The features I would like the island to have is that there is an abundance of trees, many animals of all sorts, different terrains and it would be nice if it were a larger island.

One of the item’s I would choose is a machete, it's a tool that has multiple purposes and uses. Firstly, it can be used for protection and self-defense. Since the island that I would like to be stranded on has many animals those animals won't necessarily only be herbivores, they can also be

The sleeping bag can be used for protection and as different tools too. A sleeping bag can protect you from the different element on the island. For example if it gets really cold in the night or if it’s really windy the sleeping bag can lower your risk of getting hypothermia and wind burn. If it rains you can convert your sleeping bag to a tent like structure to protect you from the rain. Furthermore, it can bring comfort to many days that I doubt will have any sort of tranquility in them. While being stranded on an island there will be no or very little serenity or relaxation, so simple sleeping bag can help you get through another day. Finally, it can be used as a temporary rope. You could use that sleeping bag as a hammock or something to hang things by, even though it is temporary it can be used very effectively. A sleeping bag has many different uses and purposes, all you have to do is be a little …show more content…
This device would be able to keep be alive and healthy, well as healthy as you can be stranded on an island. First and foremost the device I would bring along would be able to convert salt water in fresh water. This would be help full if you aren't able to find a reliable source of fresh water. Rain isn’t reliable source of fresh water, because it can go many day and even months without raining. If you don't have a source of drinkable water this would be a life or death situation. The device will also be able to filter out any impurities or contaminations in the fresh water. This will also mean life or death because if you drink water that has been contaminated this can result in minor or severe illnesses. Lastly, the components from this device can be used towards different purposes. Many of the more portable water filtration devices have different chambers that look like cups. Some of them come in waterproof containers that can be use to store valuable items or items that shouldnt be tampered with by the rain. The water filtration device could mean life or death for

No human being could think this crime unless they have forgotten that this is how humans have always lived- by fishing, by clearing land and by planting the soil. (The Hungry Tide, 261-261) Amitav Ghosh’s The Hungry Tide presents the dichotomy of wild life versus human suffering and the destruction of the ecosystem versus human survival. Set in the Sundarbans, a place where nature is harsh and vengeful making the struggle for human existence an intense task, the novel explores the plight of displaced people in their struggle for land and the constant fight for survival in a dangerous and fragile ecosystem which humans share with animals.…
