Explorer Persuasive Essay

An explorer can be defined as a person who ventures into unfamiliar territory. The term “explorer” is very vague for a number of reasons. First, the definition can imply to anyone who ventures outside of one’s own comfort zone. This can apply to a man that likes to study science, or a woman that applies for a job, even to a kid who likes to travels outside their neighborhood. Clearly, these examples go against common intuition when someone thinks of Indiana Jones and Jack Sparrow. True, these are the “explorers” that fit the archetype, but every-day people can fit this as well. Just like these heros in the movies, regular people can have the virtues that they possess. When people like Polo understand the world better than others, then opportunities open. Again, there is a lesson to be learned here, and that is this: Opportunities reveal themselves to those who know. This may seem obvious at first, but people brush past the chance to grow and choose instant gratification over long term satisfaction.
