The aim of the proposed study is to provide credible results that address the existing gap in literature regarding the implementation of policy and the use of program evaluation research. Additionally, the current analysis attempts to overcome the previous studies limitations by providing additional evidence for the promotion of criminal justice policy reform. The foci on accountability and the use of evidence-based practices regarding methodologically rigorous evaluations occur far too infrequently (Mears, 2010). As a result, the value of such findings is of utmost importance to policy makers in providing a more in-depth understanding of empirically and methodologically sound criminal justice
