This exploratory research is intended to clarify and define the reasons why a person transitions from drugs to injected drugs, the evidence provided cannot be considered conclusive, every person who was interviewed had different reasons why they initiate using injected drugs, moreover the study does not capture a population large enough and the sample can arguably be not representative of all drug users. Nevertheless, the author was successful in establishing a clear problem which is the transition between general drugs to injected ones. It adopts a new angle compared to the cited authors in the study, the new angle mainly considers the model of Durrant and Thakker although includes the Dai model (1964), Zimmer and Morgan (1997), Pentz (1999), and Crum (1996). Some of the questions may prompt symptoms of post-traumatic stress. If the person is avoiding drugs and trying to stay away from certain drugs, there is also the possibility of a relapse. The experience of the interviewers is another factor that raises ethical concerns, a person who interviews at risk individuals should have the necessary education and skills to fully understand what effect that the in-depth interviews touching in very personal and possibly traumatic event may have on oneself, the research fails to mention what is their expertise included if they are fully qualified to do the
