Explain Why Typing Is More Important Than Typing

Decent Essays
I personally like handwriting more than typing mostly because i can write quicker than i can type. Also while typing i always try to type quick which can make my slip with a finger nad misspell a word which then i have to go back and fix. But with typing you are much slower and so its easier to not make a mistake. Also if you are taking note during a lecture that isn't the most interesting it can be very tempting to click off to a game or social media which can harm your grades. Some classes i have to hand write while other classes i have to type. I have noticed the classes i type in during test i can barely remember anything even after a hour or 2 of studying. Also if you type your notes you are more focused on what you're typing than what

I am in the position of supporting the requirement for learning cursive in school. I may be biased because as a child, in early grades such as first and second, I was taught both printing and cursive. I remember my second grade teacher allowed us to choose between printing and cursive to finish standard writing assignments; though when sending us home with assignments specifically designed for learning cursive, we were required to complete those in cursive. My experience with using cursive allowed me to find my own rhythm and artistic design of the letters, along with focusing specifically on the even flow of the words, forcing me to be precise and fluid so that they were legible to both myself and other readers. Using cursive was enjoyable,…

In my opinion, based off the two articles i just read and my own personal experience, public school students should always have the right to choose a cursive or handwriting elective class. But i also do not believe that cursive should be a graduation requirement for high school students. In these times cursive is just becoming a nice skill to have aquired. What ifluenced me from article 1 was all the benefits of cursive he was naming, but there wasnt much evidence to support his theory so i had a hard time completely believing him. Quotes like " Medical brain scans show that writing in cursive helps with fine motor-skill development and stimulates both the right and left parts of the brain. "…
