Explain Why The Workplace Should Have To Provide Equal Pay For Women

Decent Essays
Workplaces should have to provide equal pay for women and men. I don’t understand why women are paid lower although having the same job, same experience and working hours. Moreover, women have to take care of the household chores after work but men usually don’t, which means they work harder every day but receiving fewer benefits. I used to believe that workplace inequities would not happen to American women as they were the leaders of many women’s rights activities since the earliest days. Women have demonstrated their ability at work, in social and political issues, so of course they should have been paid equally.
There should be removal of barriers to the full and equal participation of women in the workforce. I’m surprised to learned that

The Declaration of Independence says that “all men are created equal,” but where does this apply to women? Women are considered inferior to the male race; it has always been that way. Not only do they receive fewer opportunities than a man, but even their payroll has been affected because of this. In 1963 John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act of 1963. This act requires that both male and female employees must be given equal pay for work or you are breaking the law.…

The government needs to implement more equal pay policies because the gender gap affects half of the nations. The gender gap directly affects women but also impacts the whole nation, because when women make more money, the whole household benefits. An article about the gender gap from the White House states that “When women are not paid fairly, not only do they suffer, but so do their families” (“Understanding,” par. 1). This is very true because if a woman is making more money the whole household gets more money and benefits greatly. The gender gap also has a negative impact on the economy.…

but if they don’t have equality pay then how would they be able to afford their daily expenses mostly if they don’t have an education. They should raise the minimum wage and set equality between women and a man so that we would both benefit raising a family or even ourselves. Living on minimum wage more than likely we wouldn’t be able to survive, we all work hard but looking at the statistics if women work harder they should be able to receive the same or at least a little more because they prove that they have what it takes to get them where they are…

Women choose what they do with their education, “while men were more likely to graduate from college in the 1960s and 1970s, since the 1990s, the majority of all undergraduate and graduate degrees have gone to women” (Stevenson). Women have the ability to get equal pay considering they have the education they need to go into the workforce, women aren’t applying themselves and don’t get equal pay as a result. To say women aren’t getting paid equally isn’t fair considering they are capable of choosing high paying jobs and working…

In America, one tends to think both women and men are paid equally, but women are paid less than men even at the exact same job. According to the article, “The Wage Gap 2014” in 2012 as full time workers, men made $854 per week while women only made $691, a gender wage ratio of 80.9 percent. The pay gap is larger than most people realize even with both a man and a woman having a college education. This has been an issue for America since 1868 and still is not resolved today. With women working the same jobs as men, it is only fair that they should be paid the same as the men working with them.…

In today’s society, gender equality is not found everywhere. Women have faced all types of oppression over the years when trying to assume jobs and full gender equality. Obstacles such as harassment and sexism are found among many social situations. This also is true for women who faced challenges and unfair treatment in the work place. Women are often frustrated and turned away from jobs forcing them to become housewives.…

I believe that there are many societal gender issues that need to be addressed but one of the more significant issues is the gender wage gap. The gender wage gap (or gender pay gap) is the term that is used to describe wage inequality among men and women. In recent years, a high degree of awareness has been brought to this issue as more women enter the workforce, obtain college degrees, and climb the corporate ladder. This topic has also received heightened media attention from female celebrities, such as Jennifer Lawrence and Charlize Theron that have publicly detailed their wage negotiations and individual struggles to receive pay that is equal to their male counterparts. The increase in awareness can also be attributed to the rising…

At the end of the day, not being paid as much as a man for working in the same position is going to ultimately dent and hinder household incomes. With divorce rates being so high and single parent families seem to be always growing in numbers, such households are sadly losing out; there is a risk that those households could find themselves quickly falling into the poverty line, with no way of climbing out of it. This hardly seems fair! One thing I would also like to point out is the risk of going to extremes to hire women for certain positions, but who may not perform as well as males who could be more…

Women And Equality In The Workplace Gender Equality is the most common issue which has come across at the workplace in which women are treated inferior than the other men employees. It has been noticed than women are being paid less than men, and there is a male-dominant crowd in the workplaces. For no reason women are set apart when they are equally intelligent as men. It is very casual that women are also capable of doing a particular job as men. Gender discrimination in workplaces are fallacious assumptions and must be stopped because women are just as productive as a male employee is in doing an allotted task.…
