The Colonists committed treason, they used materials that they got from Britain, and Britain allowed them to use all of the resources they had for the colonists to thrive on, during the voyage and for them to live on in North America. The British provided the funds needed for the colonists to get to the Americas. The British sent their armies to help defend the colonists form the natives. The colonists had gotten their ideas of government from living in Britain under the rule of the king, without the knowledge of government form their previous experiences the colonists would have never been able to run their own country.

According to the Declaration of Independence the colonists were upset by the fact the British militaries were staying with them, but in reality it was logical for the militia to be staying with the colonists, to insure they were kept safe. If the British would not have lived with the Colonists like stated in the Declaration they could have been invaded by outsiders such as the Indians.
When the British started charging more on goods it was considered to be wrong, according to the bill of rights. Also stated in the Bill of Rights it was wrong for the British Soldiers to be staying with the American Colonists. If Britain would have not sent soldiers to the Americas there could have been more crime and corruption in the streets. They may have been over powering at the time. They ate the food the colonists worked hard to obtain, and slept in their homes.
