“Religion and faith are separate entities” is indeed a true statement. The dictionary defines religion as an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or a group of gods. And it defines faith as a strong belief or trust in someone or something. The book gives us some insights on what religion is; among them is that religion establishes the use of symbolism and rituals, the structuring of time, or the acceptance of moral rules. Religion is the product of a particular culture or period or discipline. In order to belong to a certain religion one must follow specific guidelines and external actions for salvation and to belong to that religion.
