Explain Why Pets Should Not Be Allowed In The Classroom

Pets in the classroom are wreaking havoc all around the country. The animals are neglected and can hurt students, cause depression in students, and many kids know from their own personal experiences that they are quite distracting. People say that pets help teach responsibility but kids forget to do their chores for the classroom pet. Animals suffer so kids learn? Pets can't be in classrooms!

One reason pets should not be allowed in the classroom is because they trigger students allergies. "As one of the leading chronic diseases in the United States, allergies can affect individuals regardless of race, class, age, or sex. They include a range of symptoms like sneezing fits, itching, watery eyes, swelling of face, wheezing or shortness of breath, and even life threatening conditions like anaphylactic shock" (Pets in the Classroom, One). People may say that parents should tell the school all of the allergies, but that would not allow kids to do all the sports that they want or they might get bullied because they're the reason that the class can't get certain pets. Allergies from a classroom pet can also lead to death. Students could get diseases like salmonella from animals. If a kid does die or get severely hurt the school can be sued. A kid in the

If, a pet dies in the classroom a student could get depressed. With that animal gone some students might not have the outlet after being bullied like they used too. The student might be so upset that they don't want to do their work or even go to school. "Preschool aged children do not typically understand that death is forever. They may think that the pet is sleeping or has run away or is just at the vets' office and will return" (Preschool Plan It, One). Students of any age may shut everybody out if, they were very attached to the pet. If, one kid is blamed for the pet dying because he or she made a mistake, they could get
