Explain Why It Is Important To Sweep Material Away From Work

It is important to sweep material away from work in progress and from newly finished work, in order to maintain clear pavement and promote safety. Debris that is swept needs to be checked for hazardous material before it is disposed of, and due to this any debris that has already been swept away but is yet to be removed needs to stay clear of a work site and recently finished areas.

SWEEP MATERIAL AWAY FROM WORK IN PROGRESS
As you sweep pavement, material that is being filtered out the side of the broom needs to be swept away from the site. Some sweepers will enable you to filter material as you go, but procedure must be in place to clear material left to the side.
