There is no question that in American society baseball is America’s pastime. Although, most American’s would argue that football has taken over as the most popular sport in America. But for those who truly admire the game, like me, would absolutely disagree. Watching two rival teams duel it out from the first pitch to the last, or a pitcher going for a no-hitter, nothing is more exciting. '' Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball,'' Jacques Barzun, the social commentator, wrote more than a quarter of a century ago.…

I play on the women's collegiate softball team at St. Thomas University. I have been playing softball since I could walk and, along with every other athlete, my dream is to play on the biggest and brightest stage possible. For softball that is the NCAA College World Series. Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to make millions of dollars playing professional softball like many other professional athletes. This is it for me because college is the highest level of softball I will play in my life and I don't want to settle at a school where I know my athletic ability and hard work could get me so much further.…

When I'm older I would like to become a pro athlete, although because that is very unlikely to happen I would become a lawyer or doctor because they make good money. Another job that probably would not happen is to be a NHL gm as I love making my own teams. If that doesn't work then I could work at the Dubuque Medline because they do so many fun things at the job. In conclusion I very much love sports as they are kind of my life, my favorite teams being hockey(Blackhawks), lacrosse(UNC), football(Packers and Hawkeyes) and baseball(Cubs).…
