For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to make a difference. I was pretty young when I decided I was going to serve my country. I knew that coming to Penta would prepare me for college some day and give me a better understanding of what the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy would be like. To reach my goals of becoming a future Peace Officer, I know that while I serve my six years in the United States Navy I will need to attend a college that offers Criminal Justice related classes so that I am ready to be a local Peace Officer after the Navy. Penta’s Criminal Justice program has given me more opportunities and ideas in planning for my future after high school. I feel that if I had the opportunity of a scholarship, it could provide for the costs of schooling needed to becoming an Officer. Getting awarded a scholarship could only make it more possible to be who I want to be for the people that I will

Ever since I was a child, my 2nd grade teacher asked us what we want to do when we grew up. Many people had different answers, but I said I wanted to become a state trooper and she said, “did you know that you might get shot?” and I said that I didn’t care. I replied that I will take a bullet for a complete stranger anytime because they might have children that they need to go home to, to provide for. My 8th grade teacher asked our class what do you want to be and I told her that I wanted to be state trooper and then she gave me some books to read over that career.…

“The magic happens when you step outside your comfort zone.” This proverb sums up everything I went through when I recently attended the Air Force Academy’s Summer Seminar in July. While there, I was pushed well beyond my limits. We, the attendees, did strenuous physical training sessions at roughly a mile above sea level, woke up before the sun rose, attended sample classes, and studied tons of military knowledge while learning about the Air Force Academy and the admission process. It was truly a challenge being there, and I loved every minute of it!…
