I have been blessed with the opportunity to work the past three years with Dr. James Cates, MD and Dr. Chad Conatser, MD, both of whom graduated from Meharry Medical College, School of Medicine. I have seen firsthand the training and education that they have received and how they treat their patients with such compassion and skill on a daily basis. These physicians have informed me on so many great things about Meharry and how Meharry led them to their current success as physicians. Dr. Cates described the phenomenal faculty, which included Dr. Henry Moses. Every time I see Dr. Cates or Dr. Conatser interact with a patient, it inspires me to attend Meharry. Most of my diversity comes through my clinical experiences at Satellite Med. I have been exposed to numerous medical procedures that have enhanced my knowledge of medicine. From synovial cyst removal to learning how to place mattress sutures, I’ve seen and assisted in many types of medical procedures. In addition to my hands on experiences, I’ve also witnessed the behind the scenes work at the clinic. I’ve have seen how giving back to the uninsured and underprivileged can change not only the patient’s life but mine as well.
