I am not your normal applicant. Yes, I have good grades and a high ACT score; no, I do not want to be a doctor or a lawyer or an engineer; I want to be a graphic designer. I am not going to describe your organization and relate my personal attributes to your values to prove that is why I deserve your scholarship. Perhaps I do not deserve your scholarship, but I am going to try my hardest to convince you otherwise.

The truth is, I have been offered a full ride scholarship to a university that even has a decent program for graphic design—but I do not want to attend their school.
