Explain Why I Deserve A In Class

Decent Essays
Why do I deserve an A in class? I believe I deserve an A in this class because I might not produce the best quality work but I always put a lot of effort into the assignment. Over the past semester my grade for Q3 was a 80 and for this quarter which is at a 70. On most of the assignments I receive on average a 80%. It only takes a few bad grades on assignments to drop that hard earned grade. Max Roosevelt writes on the point of view of professors on students disputing grades due to their expectations. The author references numerous staff members from universities that find that students expect A’s or B’s for meeting the requirements of the class. One of the staff members Roosevelt states “There is a mentality in students that if I work hard, I deserve a high grade.” (“Roosevelt, Student Expectations”) Students reinforced the theories professors have by believing that if they meet all requirements set by the professor, they warrant a high…

National Honor Society Application Essay For any human to exhibit qualities throughout their lifestyle, one must transcend in certain aspects of their nature. Everyone is born with a different character or personality and not everyone exceeds in all of the same categories, however; I would place myself among the four characteristics of scholarship, leadership, service, and outstanding character as some of the qualities where I excel. I have always been a very studious person, and I take pride in my achievements in the classroom. I was also raised to believe that my best is an A, so when I got my first B it was not something taken lightly. I try to remember that if you put your mind to something, then you can accomplish it, which reminds me of the quote by Mike Farrell, “If you try to do your best there is no failure.”…

I remember the first time I wrote an essay that was being graded at the college level. This was in my junior year when I took AP Language and Composition, our first essay was a rhetorical analysis essay from a very old excerpt that used old english and was very hard to read. When I first started reading the passage I started to get nervous because I didn't understand what the text was saying but then I started to annotate and the passage began to make sense. I found many rhetorical strategies that the author used and I then began to outline the essay in my head.…

The article in question was written by Bernard Bull He gives you what people say are the 5 most common reasons letter grades are seen as important and he counter parts after the persons intervened explanations. Do you believe that grade inflation is becoming a problem in college? Ronna Vanderslice, a professor of education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, thinks grade inflation is a major issue that colleges and universities need to address (pg. 42). Vanderslice states that about forty years ago high grades were given out to very few students, but today, most students receive A’s and B’s. After reading this, this really got me thinking, am I really performing well enough to receive an A, or am I getting a grade that I don’t actually deserve. I both agree and disagree with what Vanderslice is saying.…

Process Analysis Students in school wonder if it 's possible to get all A 's in their classes or maybe just one class. I’m going to start off with experience from school. With some of the experience that I had in school I think it is possible to get an A but the student has to be on the ball and not slack off at the end. Students just have to try hard and not get distracted when they are doing their work or studying. If they could do that then there will be no problem on passing the class with a good grade.…
