Explain Why Guns Should Not Be Banned

Decent Essays
Guns shouldn’t be banned do the reason people will still find ways to commit evil crimes. Guns also can be used to help people defend themselves and their families; therefore, they are used to protect people and not only for evil. Shiha Dalmia, from TheWeek.com stated “Anyone who wants a gun badly enough would still be able to get one.” Shiha is intelligent because there is no way everyone would hand over their weapons. Firearms make people feel safe in their homes which is an enormous reason people wouldn’t hand them over.
With everything going on in the world right now who would blame someone for the desire to keep their weapon. Nobody knows what will happen when they wake up for another day, which is the main problem with the world today.

Therefore, should firearms be banned? No, they shouldn’t and it’s silly to think so. The Government needs to end the banning of firearm laws in our country. If anything they should make laws that support it in a positive matter for protection.…

More than 10,000 people die every year from gun homicide, and most are from around 15-24 year olds. About 8,512 people have died last year from gun violence. I believe that individuals should not be allowed to have the right to bear arms because in most cases, it does not actually help people, children have easier access to dangerous guns, and having a gun makes the owner living there statistically more dangerous. First of all, many people argue guns are needed for protection purposes, but there are rarely any cases of citizens using guns. According to Carimah Townes, a Criminal Justice Reporter for ThinkProgress,“Between 2007 and 2011, 29,618,300 people experienced a violent crime, but only 235,700 — 0.8 percent — of victims used or threatened…

In the realm of the political spectrum, there are certain issues which hold more weight than others. For instance, the issue of individual responsibility. I believe that each person can decide his or her own fate, and that their circumstances do not define them. Furthermore, just because you are from a poor home with unsatisfactory conditions does not mean that you immediately have no opportunity to become something that your parents never were, as it is up to the individual to decide their own fate. They can choose to let it bring them down, or they can rise above the expectations.…

Statistics: The Centers for Disease Control listed firearms as the #12 cause of all deaths between 1999 and 2013. They were also the #1 method of death by homicide (66.6% of all homicides) and by suicide (52.2% of all suicides). The biggest argument for guns are for self-defense. People use this argument to justify why gun control would be bad when in reality guns are rarely used for self defense.…

There are many significant issues in American politics today but none is more important to me than the debates regarding gun control. There is intense discussions from both those in favor of gun control and those opposed to it. I, admittedly, find myself sometimes sympathizing with those on both sides of the debate. Regardless which side you find yourself on there is no question that guns are extremely powerful and dangerous things which demand our attention and respect. Although I do not currently own a gun I am sure there will come a day in which I will want or need to.…

“To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens”- Adolf Hitler 1933 is what one of the worst guys in history had said, and this is what people in modern times want to do in the u.s. The main reason for the second amendment is for the right of protection with a firearm whether its towards a tyrannical government or if it’s towards a home intruder we should always have the right to protect ourselves. A mass shooting shouldn’t affect our right to defend ourselves. Guns were used in many shootings, mainly Handguns as Handguns are the number one weapon used in shootings/homicides across the us coming in at around 75% of homicides.…

Guns are powerful. Not only in how much damage they can do to you with just one bullet fired, but even the presence of a gun can send any man, saint or criminal, running. Guns can be used as a form of offense and defence. They can protect our society, more than they damage it. Although some believe that gun control should further restrict the selling of firearms, they actually shouldn’t because they can be used as a form of defence, and citizens have the right, stated in the second amendment, to keep and bear arms.…

The Second Amendment, a staple of America’s freedom and liberty. Something that sets America apart from other nations but with recent deadly shootings it may be more of a curse than a flag of freedom. Maybe oblivious politicians who don’t see the danger in the weapons of the 21st Century, or maybe guns are in the wrong hands. Taking control of assault weapons will do nothing unless the government attacks the root problems, mental health and gang violence.…

In the United States in more recent years there has been a lot of debate on gun control due to events like the most recent school shooting. Both sides, Democratic and Republican, have argued for and against two very radical solutions: increasing gun control to the point of taking away guns from everyone that is not military or police, and arming teachers across the country. While both of these solutions have their benefits and flaws, one very important aspect of the active shooter epidemic seems to be overlooked, and that is the mental state of these people that will eventually turn into active shooters. When looking at the mentality of these people, there are two parts of the issue that are rarely addressed when trying to find a solution,…

In America, there is a growing perception that guns are: they are harmful, they kill, and they commit crimes, and so most guns should be banned. But, how can a gun kill or commit crimes; it is not a living thing, it is a tool. With the use of guns, America has grown to be a strong and independent country throughout history. The push to ban guns will only keep guns away from law abiding citizens since criminals, by nature, do not follow laws and respect the gun free zones. The banning of guns in America should end.…

After obtaining guns, children and adults collect them and proceed to improve their accuracy in shooting, but getting rid of them would make the world a dangerous place. Many people who believe that guns are the leading cause of death in the United States, are incorrect. A gun is not a person, it has no feelings nor can it move on its own it cannot be personified nor be blamed for any of the actions. A gun must be wielded by a person and that person is the one responsible for pulling the trigger. If guns were banned and somehow a criminal couldn’t get his hand on one illegally, they can still kill.…
