Explain Why Girls And Boys Should Not Play On The Same Sports Team

Improved Essays
Should girls and boys play on the same sports team? I feel girls and boys should not be allowed to play on the same sports team. Coed sports teams present a number of challenges for the kids and coaches alike, and those should be seriously considered before merging male and female athletes onto the same team.
First of all, sports are divided into many categories besides gender for example height, weight and skill level. Boys are taller and stronger than girls which can give them an advantage to playing on the same team, whereas if the girls are on a girl team with the same skilled leveled girls they will do better.
Additionally, boys play more competitive, meaning that there will be more physical contact. That also means more injuries. Janelle

Having the option to play co-Ed sports could be a massive push in the right direction for both the children involved, and the reputation of the school promoting it. The school would likely be the only one in town offering the student athletes a fun and healthy way to learn to work with others, relieve themselves from stress, and learn to have mutual respect for others no matter your differences. Hence, young children are at great risk of sustaining injuries in the course of competitive sports. Cases of wounds for 12 years of age are serious since the body structure of the children has not develop fully. In addition, children are more affected if they injured even though kids are not injured, they have fear of being injured from their sports.
