Explain Why Don T We Play Hopscotch

Improved Essays
In the perfect world, everyone would get along with each other, and it would be like strawberries and yogurt. However, in reality, not everyone gets along, and it could be difficult. Good afternoon fellow students and teachers. Have you ever been in a situation where you and another person can’t agree on something? Perhaps it's because you don’t get along. Today, I will be speaking to you about what you should and should not do when you’re around those people. I will also be explaining the word diplomacy, and why most people don’t get along with each other. Let’s say you're with one of those people during recess and you’re both deciding on a game to play. You may say, “Why don’t we play hopscotch?” Then the other says, “How about foursquare?”. …show more content…
Your game involves way too much jumping”. Then you start this whole argument over nothing, you keep going back and forth, and back and forth, again and again. Next thing you know, the bell rings, and you two just wasted your whole recess. That wasn’t exactly what you wanted, was it? You probably wanted your own way, right? Have you ever thought about how companies persuade you into buying their products? They would tell you why you need this specific product, and maybe even why it's better than another brand of the same product. Let's say they’re persuading you to buy a new product that tastes amazing, and it makes you a healthier person, because who doesn’t want to be healthy? To tell you that their brand is the best, they could tell you that their brand is actually good for you, and it's made from all natural ingredients. So, to get your way when choosing a game to play, you have to use logic. Explain to the person, in a calm voice, why they would want …show more content…
Its simple, all of us were created differently by God. Every single human being is unique and special. I honestly can’t imagine if everyone were the same, it just wouldn’t be the same, well I guess it would be... But in all seriousness, God made us differently, and everyone being different obviously people think different things. Which is why people have different beliefs, and opinions on different things. I guess all we can really do is accept that not everyone thinks like you or will get along with you. In class, I learned something important near the beginning of this school year, in religion class. We learned about boats, and how boats could represent different people. A motor boat could represent someone who is quick, and a sail boat could represent someone who goes with the flow, literally, and goes through life calmly and slowly. That represents everyone being different.
In conclusion, being different is not a bad thing, it's just a part of everyone's life. Today, I thought you about what to & what not to do when you’re with these people, a new word for some of you, and the reason behind why people don’t get along with each other. Not everyone is going to agree with you all the time, but no matter what, you should always respect others’ choices. Thank you for listening to my speech about how to get along with people who you do not get along

Everyone is unique, no one is exactly the same; and God created humans this way. He wants people to have their own success and to show perseverance to get through anything that comes up in their life. Because no one person is the same, everyone has a chance to show what they can bring to society. This was taken away from people in Germany because Hitler grouped the people together to make it seem as though they were all equal because of their religion. This also leads into my second teaching which is God trying to fix the brokenness of our society.…

During the lives of two very intelligent and popular leaders, they shared their perspective on how we can look at our own beliefs and prepare ourselves to be more tolerant. President John F. Kennedy said that “Tolerance implies no lack of commitment to one’s beliefs. Rather it condemns the oppression or persecution of others.” He is basically saying that there is no need for us to enforce our core beliefs onto others, but rather accept people for who they are and not try and change them. The Dalai Lama expressed that “In the practice of tolerance, one’s enemy is the best teacher.”…

Would it not be great to be able to prevent conflict altogether? Not having to resolve any disputes, or differences, and having complete harmony. It would be amazing; however, conflict is part of life. We may not be able to prevent it all the time, but we can be prepared to resolve it in the best manner possible. Authors, Ken Sande and Kevin Johnson, share their knowledge in their book titled, Resolving everyday conflict, providing a Christian view on conflict resolution (Sande & Johnson, 2011).…

Acceptance makes the world go round. Many problems we have in the world today are caused by people not accepting one another. Some examples of these problems are racism, war, terrorism, and denying people’s personal freedoms. Without acceptance the world would be filled with even more hatred and hostility than there already is. “Texas v Johnson Majority Opinion” written by William J. Brennan, “My So-Called Enemy” directed by Lisa Gossels, and “What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish” written by Etgar Keret all give lessons on acceptance and show why it is important.…

Ken Kesey, in the novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, emphasizes the abuse of psychiatry in the story and everyday life by contrasting society’s liberating interpretation of normal to Big Nurse’s captivating consideration of normal. In today’s society, the idea of a “normal person” forms when the population takes into consideration various characteristics that seem to be present in each individual while organizing the traits to form an identity that “must” apply to everyone around them. Ironically, normality can also apply to ordinary differences as well. For instance, arguments and debates, that heavily rely on opposing opinions, are still considered normal because people recognize that no two minds think alike and disagreements happens so often that it becomes ordinary.…

While being more social is rewarding as well,I’d say I find my self-contentment is best found in solitude. In her essay Sarton argues that “solitude is the of personhood. It brings out the authentic flavor of every experience”(880). This quote suggests that in the presence of other people you are not yourself and that you can’t enjoy what you encounter in life.…
