Do You Trust Your Government

Do you trust your government? Most Untied States citizens do not trust the government. In the past 100 years, government trust has declined dramatically. While a majority of citizens do not trust the government, only nineteen percent of Americans can say that they trust the government all or most of the time. While some Americans trust the government, Americans should not trust the government because there is corruption, going against the constitution and because of the amount of spending the government does. On the other hand, there are some Americans who believe everything that the government says or does. They believe that they should not question anything because they find nothing wrong with the actions of the government. They trust them so much because they think that the government follows everything in the Declaration of Independence, the constitution and all of the laws that they set. In the Declaration of Independence it states that we have “certain unalienable rights” which means that they can not be taken away from us. These bills went against the second amendment which is the right to bear arms. According to an article written by National Conference of State Legislatures on the website ncsl.org “On Jan. 5, 2016, President Obama unveiled his new strategy to curb gun violence in America. His proposals focus on new background check requirements that will enhance the effectiveness of the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS), and greater education and enforcement efforts of existing laws at the state level.” This quote explains how president Obama plans to change the gun control laws and making them
