Explain Why Children Should Not Have Weapons

Decent Essays
How would you feel if your child had a weapon on them,
Would you feel afraid, satisfied?
I don't think so because on February 14, 2018 19 year old Nikolas Cruz shot and killed 17 people and also wounding others.
This is an important topic because many people are getting killed from people having weapons.
I believe that people, unless their in the army, should have weapons. One reason I believe that people should not have weapons is because of school shootings and massacres.
For example on December 14, 2012, an active shooting spree broke out at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The shooter killed 20 students and teachers.
I feel that we should not have weapons because a lot of people will get hurt or even killed,
I also think that kids will be

I have a strong notion towards pro guns in the school. Firearms in the schools bring up large debates among many people. First side of this debate is pro firearms. Take a look at it this way, for the most part anyone can get a firearm anywhere, whether it be from home, someone off the street, a pawn shop and so on. Then you apply school bullying in the school and in today’s cyber world you can…

What I think... Teachers should not have guns because what if a kid got caught in a crossfire of the guns. Another reason that teachers should not carry guns is like at a high school kids if they got left in a room Unattended and the teacher the the gun in the desk and the kid knew it and the kid got ahold of the gun. Then that would end in disaster. Another reason that teachers should not have guns is that what if a student had been constantly annoying and being disrespectful and the teacher finally just snapped and shot the kid, that would send the teacher to jail and the kid either to heaven or to the hospital. Another reason that teachers should not have guns is that teachers are there to teach the kids not be a security guards or a babysiter.…

Violent criminals, our constitutional rights, and a sense of security are what should motivate our society to have the right to bare-arms. Looking at William S. Robinson’s article titled “A Teacher Considers Gun Violence on Campus,” Philip Van said it best, “If students and teachers were armed they wouldn’t die like sheep, they would be able to fight back.” If people think that statement is wrong, does that mean a teacher does not have the right to defend themselves against students that are willing to walk on to the campus, and open fire? Van is talking about the Virginia Tech University shooting but this applies to all people in all situations. If guns are taken away from citizens who legally obtain them and their own agenda is to protect themselves; we would be forcing them to “bring a knife to a gun fight” against felons who illegally obtain their guns.…

As of today, there have been 3,269 gun related deaths in the United States and 12,818 gun related incidents. Fifty seven of those incidents were mass shootings, five hundred and forty were home invasions, and three hundred and ninety two were defensive use (Gun Violence Archive). Most guns used in shooting are stolen in some way or another and yet, we still think that taking away the ability to buy them will stop all of the gun violence. Guns are not going away; it is time to arm those able to carry, allow concealed carry on college campuses, and to realize that taking away guns will not stop the mass shootings.…

Gun control in the United States is one of the biggest domestic issues today. If a student’s intent on hurting people they would know who would have a gun and how to get it. Also school officials are not the police, they have not been trained for these types of situations and can do more harm than good. The police can respond calmly than someone who is not used to being in these situations. Teachers should not be leaping in and start shooting away trying to fight the attacker, they should be trying to get the students away safely. More guns being fired is not the solution in a mass shooting and would likely bring more casualties and be harmful than intended originally.…

In recent years, a lot of debate had been going on about the laws pertaining to firearms. Unfortunately, with all of the mass shootings and killings being reported by the media, guns are given a bad reputation. Sadly, many people believe that they should be illegal because they are dangerous and can kill people, but what these people don’t realize is making them illegal will do a lot more harm than good. Guns have created a balance in society and if we were to take them away it could cause a lot of chaos which would result in more crime and more casualties. People deserve the right to bear arms because with proper training one could possibly save his/her life and also protect others.…
