Children of all ages need to have different amounts of sleep;
Babies need to have about nineteen hours of sleep.
Toddlers need to have about fourteen hours of sleep.
Preteens need to have about nine hours of sleep.
Teenagers need to have about nine and a quarter hours of sleep.
Effects of sleep on physical health is that sleep helps you heal. And if you don’t get enough of sleep you could get a risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. Effects of sleep on mental health is that sleep and mood are closely connected which means that if you don’t get enough sleep you will get grumpy and stressed, this is called poor or inadequate sleep.
