My first point of the argument is Bella would never love Jacob the way she loved Edward, no matter how much Jacob wishes she would. For example, Bella and Edward have told each other that they loved one another multiple times, and the conversation was never awkward after that. But the first and only time Jacob told Bella that he loved her, she did not say it in return. Instead, Bella explained to Jacob that the love she feels for him is brotherly love, and nothing more. Bella and Edward have a deeply complicated conception that could never be replaced or forgotten. My second point of reason is both Bella and Jacob always knew that he was always playing for second compared to Edward. By knowing this Jacob and Bella would have an unhealthy relationship
