Don’t get me wrong, athletes earn a spectacular amount of money, but just because they earn more than the average accountant or what ever your career may be, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the money they are earning. And they are not overpaid. All athletes have times of the year where they do not get paid at all. It is difficult to find a job during the off-seasons of sports. Also, that makes it hard to be able to pay bills and taxes; in fact I think they should be paid more.

They are entertainers. Much like an actor or a singer or any other celebrity that earn million dollar salaries, they are paid to entertain. Yet you don't see actors or singers being criticised that they earn too much for what they do. The audience is the one that makes up most of

Imagine you are a hardworking doctor or lawyer, and you aren't getting paid the amount you should be. Other people like you who are bettering our community aren't getting paid the amount they should be, and all of your tax money is going towards paying for athletic stadiums. Doctors, teachers, government employees, police officers, firefighters, and lawyers should be receiving the money that athletes receive. Professional athletes provide entertainment for society, but I believe they receive an unreasonable salary. Overall, athletes are overpaid because all they are doing is playing a game to entertain while other more important professions are making much less, they don't contribute to society, there are better places to use the money, and the money received could be used to pay for more useful causes that would benefit our society.…

Professional athletes, especially NBA players are harshly criticized of their high salaries because many people feel what they do does not amount to what they are being paid. They feel NBA players aren’t contributing enough to be paid on that magnitude. Many people can’t stand that NBA players are paid millions while teachers, doctors, lawyers, or other professions are making nothing compared to them. Many strongly feel that NBA players do nothing more than play a ball game. However, there is a lot that NBA players do that people are unaware of.…

I am personally a collegiate athlete and knows what an athlete goes through. Players shouldn’t get paid millions of dollars like professional athletes, because why would players go on to try and play professionally. On the contrary they should deserve some type of revenue whether it's for clothes shopping, take someone out on a date, gas money, etc. For example that’s the same thing as me asking my friend to do something for me and he does all the work while I sit back and relax.…

Many people who have full jobs don’t make that much in a lifetime. Athletes get paid too much! Nurses and firefighters helping people when their sick, firefighters saving people from burning buildings. All athletes do is have fun doing nothing but getting tired. Athletes are not overpaid because they work extraordinarily hard just to throw a ball. Athletes are fairly paid and one reason is people help give them money. For example the tickets that people will buy can range from $80-$200 or more depending on the seat. In addition the merchandise that people will buy can be very expensive. Lastly men and women will cheer them on as to tell them that they are making what they deserve.…

    Athletes Get Paid

I've always wondered why entertainers and athletes get paid more than doctors, lawyers, military personnel, etc. I disagree, I think that people who actually make an impact on our country should get a higher salary than people who just entertain us. I think it is unfair for military personnel and doctors to get paid only 30 to 60 thousand a year while actors and actresses get paid 300 thousand a year. I will explain a bit more in the next few paragraphs. The first reason I disagree is because the people that keep us safe and make sure we are healthy are paid very little while actors, singers, etc get a bigger annual salary just to act in a movie or sing one song.…

Getting a career right after graduation and starting the life always wanted is a college kid’s dream. From the grueling late night and early morning study sessions trying to cram all the information for the big test the next day, to running around all day all over the campus to get to classes or trying to decide if one should splurge on a pizza for dinner or stick to good old Top Ramen. Now for student athletes, add additional hours and tasks to the day, such as waking up before dawn every day for a two hour workout, going to a full day of class then right after back to hours of practice that entails couple of them on the field then inside for film then finish off the night with the homework from classes. Where is the time to get a job and make a little money for one’s self? How are student athletes supposed to eat when…

Athletes Nutrition: Too Much or Too Little As an athlete health is a one, but not all athletes are as concerned as they should be. In many cases athletes pay little attention to their nutrition levels, resulting in an unhealthy lifestyle or bad performance. Although athletes may need higher nutrients levels, too much or too little can be harmful or damaging to the body and performance, therefore athletes should learn more about their diet along with their exercise. Protein is needed in certain amounts for athletes and can be harmful to the body and performance if the right amount is not consumed. “If you fail to include protein in your fuel your body will use your own muscle, this is called Lean Muscle Tissue Catabolism or Muscle Cannibalization,…

Those who disagree say athletes go through grueling practices and games to make their fans, us, happy. The average worker makes $51,000 a year. An average football player makes $2,150,000 a year.
