Don’t get me wrong, athletes earn a spectacular amount of money, but just because they earn more than the average accountant or what ever your career may be, doesn’t mean they don’t deserve the money they are earning. And they are not overpaid. All athletes have times of the year where they do not get paid at all. It is difficult to find a job during the off-seasons of sports. Also, that makes it hard to be able to pay bills and taxes; in fact I think they should be paid more.
They are entertainers. Much like an actor or a singer or any other celebrity that earn million dollar salaries, they are paid to entertain. Yet you don't see actors or singers being criticised that they earn too much for what they do. The audience is the one that makes up most of
