1. Explain why a strategic plan is necessary
The strategic plan for Townsville Youth Housing Services will provide the organisation with long-term direction. It will identify opportunities, analyse the challenges and establish what the priorities should be in order to achieve organisational health and growth.

The TYHS strategic plan will also provide the organisation with greater accountability and a sense of purpose. This will be achieved by gaining a commitment from the committee to drive the process; TYHS will involve other stakeholders, such as staff and volunteers, and ask them to provide their input. TYHS will ensure the strategic planning will be rewarding and ensure the sustainability and health of the organisation.
