Liberty University Abstract
My essay that I am writing about is my overall view on what " morality, knowledge, and religion" meant to those in the founding era. I will discuss why they believed our nation would only succeed if based on morality, knowledge, and religion. I will also discuss whether I think that those very same beliefs can still be the basis for success in the now religiously diverse America. What is God's purpose for Government?
God's purpose for government was to award hose who do good and punish those who do evil. It is just that simple! I believe that based on that one statement alone that would be my foundation of my argument. God wanted to put in place a government ( system) that allows justice to be served, for God is just and fair! (Job 34:17 "Shall one who hates justice rule? And will you condemn the righteous mighty One,) What were they thinking in the founding era?
When I sit back and ponder this topic, I realize that this class is very similar to free government and enterprise. I say that because I truly believe that those in the founding era used the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence as a platform to express the inalienable truths (our God given rights).
