1. What is your understanding of Literacy in the 21st Century?
My understanding of literacy has changed from one that if asked the question what does it mean to be literate? I would have replied that it means a student can read and write with a high degree of fluency. After reading these pages in the text book I know that in this day and age for a person to be literate they must encompass far more skills than just reading and writing, they must also be able to use a computer, be up on what is happening in the media, and even maters of health and wellness to name a few. For in the 21st century literacies are based on a topic not on just reading and writing.
