If people are optimistic and look for the good in everything, chances are they will get the good in everything, because they chose the ignore the bad. People who choose to see the negative side of things, or are pessimistic, tend to receive the negative aspects or side of things. For example, a person who is positive about all of the studying they did for an upcoming test, will stress less about it, and typically score better than someone who negatively views they’re studying. On the other hand, if someone thinks they did a poor job of studying, they will typically stress about their test, and not score as well. Having never taken the DISC assessment before, I was unsure about what to expect. I thought it was fairly accurate in many ways, but I felt that it very much tapped into what I consider my “work” self and did not cover much of who I am outside of that. I scored a high average score on the D spectrum. This seemed accurate, as I am relatively competitive overall, I like looking at the big-picture, I don’t mind taking risks, I can be critical of those that don’t measure up to my standards and I am very interested in new and innovative things.…

iii) Task Monotony: This is another factor that causes stress in employees. Employees are required to follow a predesigned script and are required to intersperse it with 'power words' like please, 'Thank you', welcome and the like. This leads to monotony and boredom due to no flexibility and routine and repetitive nature of work tasks. Yales et al. 1994 and Houlihan (2002) among many others report that monotony was related to higher turnover rates and intentions to quit.…
