What does coming of age mean to you? What coming of age means to me is young kids that turn into mature adults that have responsibility and face the consequences of their action and choices. Coming of age means to become mature. For example, if i have a disagreement with a teacher i will talk to them about it. Coming of age means to be responsible. For example, if my mom told me to do my chores, i wouldn’t ask questions, and i would do it. Coming of age means to face consequences. For example say i come to school and skipped all my classes, when i get home the office called my mom, and my mom ask my questions and i would tell her the truth and get grounded. How would coming of age connect with a race? How I perceive coming of age as a race is you cannot go straight into a race you must train day to day repeatedly, getting better every time, and towards the end you have all of this experience built up passing on to the next future generation. Loved ones or the ones who are close in this situation will be your coach, they are standing by your side in this time of training telling you the correct way of doing things and pushing you to do your best at all times. Attaining the age of realization that you have changed is completely different for everyone out there. After the race you will either be completely invigorated or thinking I could've done better, maybe It wasn't the time of realization.…
