Explain What Age Of 16 Is The Right Age For Dating

Decent Essays
Your child is 12 years old and is dating someone you don't even know. The child that you held as a newborn, the child that you changed the diapers on, the child that you take to every sports activity that she is in. How would this make you feel? What is the age that people should begin to date? I believe that the age of 16 is the right age to begin dating. You are mature, you are old enough to make your own wise decisions, and you have a good sense of time management to stay focused on school, grades, and extracurricular activities.
First, one of the many reasons I think this way is because dating should be something that is between you and your boyfriend or girlfriend. This should not be an activity that you meet at the movies or the mall

Additionally, the author uncovered data on how broken teenagers’ social skills have become. Dating is more like texting or communicating through apps (3). Since my last year in high school, I have been so excited to start the process of dating; however, my parents are those fuddy-duddies who go by the age old testimony that you have to be the magic age of sixteen. Really, what does a number have to do with my maturity level, especially when it relies on the other individual’s maturity and expectations of the date. Living in a bubble, I have come to the understanding that dating can be compared to a dangerous game of “Russian Roulette.” Imagine, sitting in a car at a football game with the one and only heartthrob, stadium lights off and you come to the realization of his expectations.…

Online dating is a current trend taking over the 21st century. However, is it for the best? Aziz Ansari goes on to explain the fascination with online dating, and how everyday people are finding love within a society compelled to constantly have the best option available in his article, “Love in the Age of Like”. Aziz Ansari begins the article by discussing the fact that his father was able to decide on a wife quicker than he was once able to decide on where to dine during a business trip to Seattle. This comparison introduces his idea that the mentality of being compelled to research every option to insure we are getting the best out there, may be interfering with our romantic lives.…

Amy is a vivacious and beautiful 15-year-old sophomore at Happy Valley High, who is planning on attending college to become a doctor. Eventually, through a series of phone calls and texts, Amy agrees to have sex with Thomas; however, Thomas refuses to use birth control and Amy ends up pregnant. This fictional story has a strong basis in reality as Amy’s pregnancy would detract from her future plans and dreams, while Thomas faces possible statutory rape charges or raising a child. Due to these types of incidents, there are groups stating that the age of consent requires lowering so that teenagers will stop being punished for consensual sex since they persist in having intercourse anyway.…

I know many people are really against these modern ways of dating. Many older people think traditional dating is the only way a man and woman can fall in love. They believe in the popular boy meet a girl, boy asks girl on a date, and girl and boy fall in love. I happen to agree with those people who believe in the traditional ways of dating. Online dating does not allow you to get the girl or boy in his or her natural element.…

My mom used to tell me in the old days they were more strict than today. Their parents don’t let them go out without any companion. They had to do their chores every day before they could go out, and their parents also picked the right guy for them and that is hard because being with a guy that they don’t love is totally unfair. I can’t imagine placing myself in that situation but my parents are using that rule to me and it’s so unfair for my part. For example, there was a time that I had to go to my friend’s birthday party, and my mom wouldn’t let me go out without any companion, so I have to bring my cousin with me to be sure that I went there and didn’t go some other place.…
