The Role Of Computers In Education

At a time all but forgotten, there was just a teacher and this teacher was the sole force behind education. As new technology became available, these teachers saw its potential to aid in student 's education. As radios became popular in the early to mid 1920 's they were used in classrooms to teach all sorts of subjects. Then in 1939 the first television was implemented in a school, followed by the basic computer back in the 1960 's. By the 1990 's we see portable computers being used, these computers are called laptops and about that same time we see smart boards replacing the whiteboards that replaced the old chalkboards that were used since the dawn of the modern school. From taking up entire buildings to now being able to sit on a desk, the computer has no doubt changed the face of our planet. How is this all possible, well like any machine a computer requires power and that is the job of the power supply, it makes sure all the components in a desktop computer receives the right amount of electricity to function. The most important part is called the Motherboard, which houses the CPU or central processing unit, this is the part responsible for doing all those millions of calculations, but it would not make it far if not for the heat sink. The heat sink draws heat off the CPU so that it does not overheat and quit working, like a radiator in a car. The motherboard also contains the RAM or random access memory, the RAM is a short term place to store information and clears upon turning off the machine. For long term storage computers use hard drives, which are able to store information almost indefinitely.
