Explain The Reasons Why The Giver Left The Community

I think Jonas left the community for very good reasons. He wanted to save Gabe's life, free the people, and find Elsewhere. Jonas knew it had to be done.

The most important consideration that came to Jonas was Gabe's life. After discovering that 'release' leads to death, consequently, he believed that no one deserved the punishment. Moreover, when Jonas found out regarding Gabriel's 'release', he knew that bringing him along to Elsewhere was the only possible approach to saving the child's life.
