In this assignment I will explain the legal, ethical and operational issues in relation to the use of information.

Legal issues
Legal issues are various items of legislation (law) to protect the use of business information.
Data protection act 1998
Many business store information about people, whether it’s for potential customers or previous clients.
The data protection act protects the information held about people from being misused. The information businesses store on databases need to be obtained fairly and lawfully, they must only be used for the purposes started during collection, it must be accurate and up to date, not kept for longer than necessary, processed in line with your rights, subject to

This involves producing backups of information stored on the serves. If live information is destroyed or damaged, a copy is available. Backups are stored on separate hardware from live versions of information.
Health and safety
Although it is unlikely that computer equipment is dangerous in itself, it can be used in ways that can be a hazard to health of staff. Many office based jobs require employees to spend substantial portion of their working day sat at their desk working on a computer. Bad posture, incorrect positioning of equipment and susceptibility to repetitive strain injury are health and safety risks that employees are legally required to take seriously.
The health and safety regulations 1992, management of health and safety at work regulations 1992provision of work equipment regulations 1992 and at the work place health and safety welfare regulations 1992 are all acts of legislation.

Legal factors affecting Tesco's activities

Ovbiously within a company/organisation their will be company law that falls under the legal factors that affect a companies activities. The legal Factors that could affect Tesco's activities may be company/contract law. Each of which may protect employees and consumers. Obviously they need to protect their employees personal details so that no one else can get a hold of them
