The 6 C’s are commonly used in health and social care to know what skills and personal attributes are needed when providing care to others. The Compassion in Practice was first released on December 2012, implying to all health care professionals such as nurses, doctors, midwives etc. The first C is Care which is giving the appropriate care for the needs of the individual e.g. Nusrat was given medication for her epilepsy to decrease the chance of having unexpected fits during the day, compassion is where you are fully aware of needs of others and have the ambition to help them e.g. a multi-disciplinary team was put together according to Nusrat’s needs to be able to give her the best care possible.
