Follow up First off we will encourage residents and family members alike to share their concerns and complaints in open forum. This will create an open door approach, which will allow residents and families to feel more at ease when any concerns arise in the status of care (National Center For Assisted Living/NCAL, 2005). The step in the process is to reach out to both the resident and the family and apologies for any discomfort the situation has caused. Provide empathy for their distress and reassure them you have heard their complaint.…
Another theory that connects with gentrification and social issues amongst homeless people is the social conflict theory. The social conflict theory was invented by Karl Marx. Marx explanation for this theory was the following “the causes and consequences of class conflict between the owners of the means of production and the capitalists and the working class and the poor” (Social Conflict Theory, 2016, pg. 1). This basically means Marx’s (2016) focused was on the different resources amounts withheld between lower social classes and higher social classes. This theory connection for gentrification is illustrated amongst the lower class residents who are forced to move somewhere else due to their low economic status.…
If there is any decline in participation by the resident, the assigned center team member will report it to the director of rehabilitation who will determine if that patient needs to be picked up by therapy. The reasoning for the residents decline in status will be thoroughly assessed. When the therapist bills for the resident’s evaluation an example of a goal for gait would be, “Ambulate 40 feet with rolling walker from room to dining room with minimal verbal cueing to maintain RW at a safe distance from the body with equal step length BLE.” Goal example for a transfer would be, “Require minimal assist with transfer and gait, secondary to improvement of balance as evidence by Tinetti score of 19/28 for balance and gait”.…

Conflict Essay The two conflicts that I have chosen to ‘compare and contrast’ the nature and causes are the Russia and Ukraine conflict as well as the Israel and Palestine conflict. Both involve conflict over land and have big historical backgrounds. Both also include military and war. Whilst the reasons for the cause are different.…
Hey Haleigh, I really enjoyed reading your post. I agree with Karl Marx, that society is determined by economic organization, particularly the ownership of property. In today's society, people think power is everything. People with power, think they can get alway with anything. In my opinion, it should not matter if you are rich or poor, everyone should be treated equally.…
They both are at risk for falls, one uses a walker and one is using a wheelchair. The client who is in the wheelchair is orthostatic so she must be reminded to slow down. A concern for the nurse is when dementia progresses will she understand to take it slowly when standing and if not will there be enough staff available to ensure her safety. As the client with the walker progresses with her Alzheimer will she be able to understand her personal limitations.…
The United States is said to be the land of the free for all people, no matter who you are. Even though that is said to be the case, there are still many problems with racial profiling between the African American people and the police community. This has been a major dilemma since the Civil Rights Movement. In this paper, I will connect the 4 stages of conflict emergence, Identity, Grievance, Contentious Goals, and Redress, to the injustice of police brutality and then apply a source of power to each conflict emergence. The first conflict emergence is identity.…
Realistic conflict theory is intergroup hostility that stems from competition and confliction over limited resources. It further explains the feelings of prejudice and discrimination that accompany intergroup hostility. Gender could be considered an intergroup hostility. Gender creates competition and confliction in certain areas in a relationship. Social roles and hostility create disadvantages for the group and their relations.…
Analysis of Conflict Social identity theory can explain the formation of competing groups involved in this conflict. Looking at Arizona laws and recent presidential speeches, such as the Arizona speech, it is clear that Latino immigrants are not welcomed in this country. Both anti-immigrant laws and speech references bring attention to the racial and ethnic differences between the American population and immigrants coming from South America. In many cases it is difficult to distinguish where exactly a particular person came from, but facial features or skin color, as well as Spanish language, lead to the assumption that the person is somehow different from the majority of American population.…
This visual essay focuses on how conflict has continually shaped design throughout history. This essay is divided into two sections to show the contrasts and similarities between our medieval history and our modern history, looking at our innovation and how we deal with the aftermath. Different periods of time led us to have different limitations and different levels of technology, we can see how our far ancestors adapted to conflict in a different way how we do today. However, we still hold similar core fundamental needs that must be met and this becomes apparent if we look into our history. Our instinctual want to survive is what makes conflict a driving force in the design world, where that be a need for a weapon to defend ourselves or…
When we examine our goals and criticisms through TRIP we are better able to understand what the conflict is about and ways in which we can prevent or deal with conflict. While some conflict are easily grounded in one or more of the TRIP goals any of these goals can have an underlining identity issue that could be causing the conflict. As we observe our own identity issues we are able to better show and vocally express appreciation for others thus confirming their own identity. Before any form of appreciation can be shown to others we must first find what causes conflicts in our own life and find what is truly at the heart of the conflict. When I took a few moments to really think about what sort of things inspire conflict in my life I came up with: money (particularity how…
Is conflict necessary for change? Based on Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson I draw the conclusion that yes, conflict is necessary for change. I believe that change is only completed if there is a conflict, no matter how big or how small it is. My three reasons for this, are based on Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson arguments on their views of human nature, the best form of government, and Ideal Economy. In documents provided for us, document 1, 2 Hamilton and Jefferson disagreed in the way they viewed human nature.…
Conflict comes in various sizes and styles and isn’t prone to just one part of a life. You will deal with conflict in your personal and professional life with your professional life being the tougher of the two. If it’s someone you know personally such as a friend or family member, it’s much easier to share openly and honestly. When it’s a co-worker, boss or fellow leader, the situation is much tougher.…
Conflict is defined as a difference of ideas or opinions. In a team or organization consisting of people from different backgrounds and with different skills, perspective and experience, it is possible to form some conflicts. According to Scott (1967), conflict may be in two forms, constructive and destructive. Constructive conflict is when one level of conflict may key to up for superior performance while destructive conflict is intense or prolonged conflict. Too much conflict may cause worry or fear, hamper work performance, and in some cases led to physical and mental illness.…
