1. Make sure you have all of your materials ready and labelled to limit confusion and cross contamination (recommended: have separate pipettes for each respecting substance)
2. Blend your calf liver and divide the puree into 3 different separate cups measured 2g each – add 3 drops of water to each cup as well
3. In cup labelled “NaOH” add 6 drops of sodium hydroxide onto calf liver with the pipettes, then add 2ml of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) soon after – watch and record results in observation table
4. In cup labelled “H2O” add 6 drops of distilled water onto calf liver, then add 2ml of H2O2– watch and record results in observation table
5. In cup labelled “HCl” add 6 drops of HCl (hydrogen chloride) onto calf liver, then add 2ml of H2O2

These materials included, a clean dual petri dish, an iPhone 6s, two cotton balls, eight pill bugs, a small clear container, a small paint brush, a saturated pipet of 0.1M sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and a saturated pipet of 0.1M hydrochloric acid (HCl). Methods: After obtaining all the materials, the first thing done was to place the cotton balls in the center of each circle in the dual petri dish. The cotton ball on the left side of the dual petri dish was then saturated with 0.1M hydrochloric acid, and the cotton ball on the right side of the dual petri dish was saturated with 0.1M sodium hydroxide. Hydrochloric acid is labeled as a strong acid, which means it is high in acidity.…

Blood can be analyzed is often the specimen of choice for detecting, quantifying and interpreting drugs and other toxicant concentrations. Concentrations of drugs and other toxicants in blood may be useful for establishing recent drug ingestion and to determine the effect of a drug on the deceased at the time of death, or at the time the blood was taken. Urine is the most common sample used for drug testing in the workplace, but it is not always available for post-mortem testing.…

The Thermodynamics of Potassium Nitrate Dissolving in Water Introduction: This experiment focuses on thermodynamics or the study of heat and molecular randomness. It helps illustrate how and why potassium nitrate (KNO3) dissolves in water. When it dissolves, it dissociates into potassium (K+) and nitrate (NO3-) ions. These ions can also recombine into solid potassium nitrate. This reaction can reach a state where concentrations of ions remain constant or Ksp; which stands for the equilibrium concentration for the solubility product.…
