To ensure a well-run, purposeful program that is responsive to participants needs, caregivers use planning, observation and documentation to support children’s development. Caregivers will regularly observe and document a child’s developmental and education progress. They will also use multiple sources when assessing each child’s strength, interest, and abilities, such as written observation or information provided by parents. They will also reflect on previous experiences of the child when planning a curriculum. A well-managed program will abides to all legal and program requirements, such as complying with the teacher-child ratio.
Caregivers will also adhere to Mandated Reporting requirements relating to abuse or neglect of a child. Caregivers’
