One of our family friend were planning to start a family and after few years later, she was able to conceive. During her last trimester, she started getting some pain and went to the hospital. They told her to go home and that it is normal to have some pain and contraction. Few hours later, she became more concerned because she has not felt the baby kicking and was still in pain. She went back and told the healthcare her concerns. They rushed her in to check her but it was too late to save the baby. This event could have been prevented, if the IOM's (Institute of Medicine) 6 aims of improvement were used.
