How have social and cultural messages shaped your view of gender?
Social and cultural messages have shaped my view on gender by continually reminding how things may seem as if they are changing but the progress for is slow. What have seemed to affect me the most is the lack of respect women is giving in our society. I was raised by a single mother and her support system was all women. I was taught at an early age to respect women and how to treat women. Today, the cultural and social message for women and even young women seem to be mainly viewed as objects. Which is making it harder for women in the workforce and young women who are looking to better themselves and change how they are being viewed and shown in the media. These negative messages
