Expert Action Badge Essay

The Army doctrine is working on the Expert Action Badge (EAB); we should notice it by October 2019 if approved. The EAB plans to allow Soldiers to make professional goals in line with their Military Occupational Specialty (MOS). An example would be the Infantry has the Expert Infantryman Badge (EIB) and the Medical Corps have an Expert Medical Field Badge (EFMB). The Expert Action Badge is not similar to the Expert Infantryman Badge, which focuses solely on for infantry related skills. The Expert Action Badge will focus on basic Soldier skills from different MOSs providing the opportunity to further their training. Therefore, the idea behind this badge is for Service Members to have enough motivation and challenge themselves, by getting out of their comfort zones, and in return try to receive an incentive for their efforts. The EAB intends to improve the battle training and expertise in individual Soldier skills during peacetime. Soldiers who are currently wearing EIBs and EFMBs disagree with the Army and the way it is rewarding Soldiers for knowing basic Soldier skills.
