In the experiment 4-1 analysis of sand sample, the sand was classified in many ways.In this lab ___ had to determine the properties of five sand samples to compare them to the sand sample from the “crime scence.” The crime scene sand small little pieces of sand all the exact same size and when it was under the micropsope it was crystal and it look like the color of a rainbow but was the exact same. In sample one which was the Hawaii sand this sand was not a match to the crime scene because it had mixed sand with dark brown, light brown, a little bit of of white sand. In sample 2 which was Marco Island, Fl was not a match because even though it has white sand when it was under the polarized film half of them were crystallized and the other

For this experiment, a few scientists are researching how different flavors/colors of sports drinks effect the amount of red 40 dye in each drink. The independent variable in the experiment is the flavors of Gatorade (a brand of sports drinks) used, while the dependent variable is the concentration of dye the sports drinks contain. The constant variable is the spectrophotometer, the amount of liquid used, and the same type of cuvette. The controlled variable is only using water. In order to determine which drink would have the greatest concentration of red 40 dye, the scientists must first understand what it actually is.…

In the nine unknown solutions experiment there was nine solutions that were labeled with just numbers from one to nine and all of these one to nine solutions were mixed together randomly to see what kind of reaction it would form. There were mostly no reactions being formed but the reactions that were soluble and insoluble formed different colors of precipitate. The main importance in finding the nine unknown solutions was to prevent any inaccuracies that might form when there is a chemical compound forming. This experiment was done to determine the identity of the nine unknown solutions like color (physical trait), and chemical characteristics.…

In this unit of my 9th grade Physical Science, we are learning and experiencing with labs. In this week's experiment, my class did the paper towel lab. Here, we tested the quality of three different paper towel brands, Viva, Up&Up, and Bounty. Each lab group was testing for a certain quality of each brand, such as strength and absorbency. Through different experiments, each lab group came to the conclusion that one paper towel brand had more strength or better absorbency than the other two.…

Percent Copper In Brass Lab Conclusion Emily Oleisky The purpose of this lab was to observe the amount of light a solution absorbs, and use the relationships in the Beer-Lambert Law to determine the quantity of a certain compound within a complex sample. First, the relationships between wavelength, concentration, and absorbance were determined. This lab focused on identifying the absorption of copper in various brass samples, and finding the percent copper in brass. In the first activity of the lab, the scientist was trying to determine the difference in molar absorptivity across various wavelengths of multiple salt solutions.…

It tells me whether my hypothesis was correct when I tested it and whether the results can prove my point. After analyzing the data, my hypothesis was correct. I was able to see a trend that the penny was able to hold 40+ droplets of tap water each time, but there were some exceptions, while the penny was able to hold 10+ drops each time.…

'Beach Burial' by Kenneth Slessor is a poem that illustrates all the poet’s grief for the sailors who died in the great sea battle in the North African Campaign during World War II. The poet thinks that war is not worth it because in the end you are being dehumanised. Slessor uses the technique of imagery in the example ‘To pluck them from the shallows and bury them in the burrows’ as a way of showing how they are being dehumanised and unvalued. The word ‘pluck’ is used to describe how these soldiers are being picked up and thrown around as if they are objects. In conclusion, Slessor conveys his grief in the technique imagery by using words to describe the soldiers as if they were never human.…

Throughout the film there are multiple panoramas of the landscape surrounding Mr. Hamrar’s house and property. There is no sign of any civilization in sight - no lights, no smoke, and no people. The closest thing to civilization throughout the movie is the man who delivers the groceries, and the voice of Mr. Hamrar’s daughter on the phone. He has purposely separated himself from society, removing himself so he doesn’t have to have a schedule, or a job, or put up with people judging how he does things. At the beginning of the film the audience is lead to believe that the elderly couple is isolated simply because they don’t want to be bothered because anything that society could offer them they can do for themselves.…
