How Is Life Fair

Improved Essays
Some people say that life isn’t fair, they say that they deserve better or that the deserve this and that. We have all experience bad days whether it be something minor like being late for school or a job and having our whole schedule be off or something more serious like losing a loved one. They say that if good things happen to good people so that’s what we try to be; good people but sometimes tragedies can befall even the best people. When we don’t get our way we get mad and frustrated and start question what we did wrong or what we did to deserve what happened to us. I agree that at times life may not seem fair and there are days when we feel that we deserve better than what we have but I am also a firm believer that everything in life happens for a reason even if we see what that reason is.

The best example that I can think of, of when this happened to me is the time that I first entered high school. I went to Brookhurst jr. High School for seventh and eighth grade and every year the colorguard from Savanna would come towards the end of the school year and perform a routine for us. The event was meant to recruit prospective members who were going to be ninth graders the following year and give them information about auditioning. I was a very shy kid at the time so preforming in front of large crowd wasn’t something I was very comfortable with but my friend at the time was really interested in it. She half convinced and half forced me to attend the clinics and audition with her and I did it because I didn’t have many friends that I talked to as frequently as I did with her. I knew of the demanding hours that colorguard entailed and with school work on top of that, we would lose contact very quickly which would ultimately lead us to drift apart. The last thing I wanted was to start high school alone so I attended the clinics with her, they started on Monday but at that time I was still unsure if I wanted to do it so we went Tuesday

Transitioning from middle school to high school is scary enough, not to mention finding out that your best friends won’t be attending that same school adds a little pressure on a pre-teen who, for the most part is really shy. When I first started high school I had a cousin who was a year older than me, she showed me around school and I ended up hanging out with her and her friends for a few months. Then she introduced me to some of her newer friends who were in the same grade as me. They were nice people and they got me through the first year of high school, but I never felt like I belonged to “their group”.…

I have recently gone through some experiences that have opened my eyes to the many hypocrisies that are ingrained into the criminal justice system. As a child and up until now, I have always thought that the courts were just and law enforcement officers stood for something more, that is not the case to me. I see a lot of corruption and a lot of nonsense, Especially towards minorities.…

I know a lot of people that have been through their crucible or "severe trial" which has forced them to change, and look at things differently in life. In this essay I’m going to be writing about my crucible and how it affected me. So the severe trial that I’ve been through in my life happened last year during the school year, a month and a half before summer started. The whole eighth grade class was excited because we were going to go roller skating as a school field trip. I was especially excited because I had never been roller skating before and all my friends had told me that it was really fun.…
