Qualifications/Experience

1. Experience in fundraising and or event management

I have experience in both fundraising and event management.

At Netball Victoria I worked alongside the Community Engagement Manager and was responsible for promoting the departments fundraising incentives to our members or sponsors. I was responsible for seeking cross collaboration opportunities with our major commercial sponsors and identifying commercial opportunities to incorporate our key not-for-profit organisations agendas such as the Butterfly Foundation and the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

I mutually have a solid understanding of event management from working with two previous employers that focused on events to generate revenue streams in their Commercial Departments. Both my roles at Netball Victoria and Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust required me to take on some event coordinating duties and manage my workload to meet event outcomes reporting and timelines.

It is with great pleasure that I submit an application for the Marketing Growth Analyst position offered by Ampush. I learned about Ampush from personal research and became interested in your company’s unique approach to marketing strategy and campaigns. When I first learned of Ampush, I was immediately taken by your mission to cater an individual advertising experience for each one of your company partners rather than trying to find a one-size-fits-all strategy for every single project. Ampush’s focus on instead developing strategies that target the individual needs of each project resonates strongly with my experiences in the arts at Williams. With each theatrical production I worked on, I was encouraged to analyze and understand the show…

While some people may think of event management as a degree in party planning, it is gaining credibility as a legitimate career. The Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council created event management standards which also led to the definition of exactly what an event is (Robertson, 2015). An event is “a social form that organizes interaction in a distinctive way” or the “gathering of three or more people who agree to assemble for a purpose ostensibly related to the functioning of an organization or group” (Beaulie, 2004). According to Michael Auerbach, “in 2006 there were 51,000 event planners in the U.S. and 39% of those were within an event planning company” which demonstrates the grand size of the industry and its obvious importance to society (2015). The purpose of this paper is to explore a career in event planning.…
