When we first arrived in Krakow, Poland, we went straight to the University of Economics where we will be staying for the week along with the other Regnum Christi members from Spain. When we got there, we were introduced to a very funny priest who briefed us about the World Youth Day and who gave us our IDs and kits.
Our first day was spent going around Krakow and trying to check all the different programs that were prepared for the day. We met a few people who asked us what country we came from, traded a few souvenirs with, joined random dances and cheers, looked at all the people waving their flags and cheering, and just everything we could …show more content…
All of the groups from Regnum Christi attended the mass the whole church was packed. It was super fun though, because we were still able to make friends and hear the mass properly. Also, since the mass was in Spanish, some people still translated for us. It’s so funny how we were still the only group that couldn’t understand Spanish out of every group there.
The best part of the mass, for me, was when everyone sang the song “Viva Cristo Rey”. Yes, we also learned the song because we loved it so much. Everyone was singing and waving their flags much like the previous day and match that with a really pretty church, you really couldn’t help but join in. (Disclaimer: there would be a lot of flag waving and singing parts that I love).
After the mass, we were supposed to watch the Copa Catolico finals (It’s like a football cup), but we didn’t have time because we had to go to Blonia for the way of the Cross. The Way of the Cross was similar to the Papal Welcome, but the difference was that, this was more of a reflective activity because for each station, a different problem was addressed and prayed for by the
